Offered Classes

Photographic Image Embroidery Workshop

Re-imagine the family photo album and learn how to transform classic black and white photographic images with colorful embroidered embellishments! This course covers core embroidery basics, essential stitches, and how to apply them to a selection of vintage photographs custom printed onto linen cotton canvas. Because of this it is well suited towards beginners, however, students with more embroidery experience are encouraged to join for a fun refresher course and the opportunity to apply their skills to photographic imagery.

While you’ll experiment and play with some of Robert’s favorite vintage photos, you’ll also learn how to have your own images printed on fabric for future projects.

All materials will be supplied and are included in the cost, but you are encouraged to bring your own tools if you would like more options.

U.S. Map Embroidery Workshop

This workshop focuses on the intersection of handicraft and storytelling, inviting you to stitch your own narrative onto a beautiful 1906 map of the contiguous United States custom printed on a half yard (27” x 36”) of linen cotton canvas. Join Robert in learning core embroidery basics and essential stitches to create travel lines, designate destinations, accentuate geographic features, and travel ‘off-road’ adding personalized imagery and text. Instruction will help you explore all of the ways you can embroider your adventures in the “Lower 48”.

The class is well suited for adventurous beginners, however, students with more embroidery experience are encouraged to join for a fun refresher and the opportunity to apply their skills to a large-format map.

All materials will be supplied and are included in the cost, but you are encouraged to bring your own tools if you would like more options.
